Ms. Betty Denise Leonard Milliner was born on July 14, 1954 to the late Mr. Leslie and Clemmie Sue Leonard in Tallapoosa County, AL. She confessed Christ at an early age and was a life long member of Great Bethel Missionary Baptist Church.
Betty was a loving and devoted Mother of three. She lived out her life as an example of love, hard work and commitment to her family. She enjoyed spending her time with her family instilling values that will continue to guide us, sharing the history of the family history and her past experiences while sitting around the table at family meals. The best memories were made around the “Grandma Table”.
Betty departed this life on February 15, 2024 peacefully surrounded by her loved ones. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie and Clemmie Sue Leonard; both brothers, Leslie “Bubba” Leonard, Jr. and Victor Leonard; and a sister Marion Leonard.
She leaves to cherish her memories: a son, Sam (Kimberly) Milliner, III of Alexander City, AL; two daughters, Jessica Milliner of Alexander City, AL and Bridget (Chris) Woodyard of Jackson’s Gap, AL; two sisters, Lena Burns of Fayetteville, GA and Jennifer (Morris) Gray of Alexander City, AL; eight grandchildren, Quantavia (Sederick) Smith of Opelika, AL, Phonecia Graham of Port Wentworth, GA, LaMycal Harris of Alexander City, AL, Shakeya (Alex) Dennis of Wetumpka, AL, Christopher Woodyard of Jackson’s Gap, AL, NyDesia Lewis, Zykeriah Lewis and Nija Lewis all of Alexander City, AL; two great grandsons, SJ and Preston; seven nephews, Marcus, Michael (Charnissa), Terry, Ray, Leslie, Jerel (Renee), and Joshua; two nieces, Shangaleeza (Kenneth) and Saboria; a host of great nieces, great nephews, and other relatives and friends.
