Lonna Vines Obituary

Mrs. Lonna Alecia Fells Vines

Lonna Alecia Fells Vines was born to the late Annareta Williams Fells and Lonnie States Fells Jr.  on January 20, 1964, in Lompoc, California at Vandenberg Air Force Base. Lonna lived at Mather Air Force Base, Biloxi Air Force and Griffiss Air Force Base, where she entered school.  The family moved to Chilton County years later where Lonna attended Adair Middle School and graduated from Chilton County High School in 1982. Lonna participated in the Chilton County High School marching band and was inducted into the National Beta Club for academic success. Lonna attended and graduated Cum Laude from Alabama State University with a B.S. in Computer Information Systems. She was a member of the ASU Marching Hornets, Tau Beta Sigma, Alpha Kappa Si Business Professional Organization and was initiated into the Beta Eta Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. in the Spring of 1985.

Lonna accepted Christ at an early age and was an active member at Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church in Alexander City, Alabama where she married the love of her life, James Lewis Vines in 2011.

Lonna’s career included positions as Senior Systems Analyst at Russell Corporation until the Corporation’s move to another state and Logistics Coordinator for A & M Plumbing, LLC. Lonna loved bowling and being with her family and friends in her spare time. Her infectious spirit and sharp wit brought joy to all that she encountered. Lonna’s greatest joy came from being with her husband, children and grandchildren.

She leaves behind precious memories to her husband James Vines; children: Jonathon Vines (Nicole), Skye and Christopher; brothers: Orlanda K. Fells and Reginald A. Fells (Tiffany); a brother-in-law: Wayne Vines (Pat) and five grandchildren: Jayden, Jade, William, Sami and Thomas. She also leaves behind many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, church family members, sorority sisters and dear friends.
