Mr. Lucas Marquez Spinks “CJ” was born to Robin Spinks Welcher and Luke Welcher on January 10, 1987 in Lee County Alabama. At an early age, CJ committed his life to our Lord and Savior and united with the St. Matthews Baptist Church in Auburn, Alabama.
On Monday March 7, 2022, Lucas departed this life at his home. He was preceeded in death by his grandparents, Ann Mae Spinks, Luke Welcher, Frazier Spinks and Mamie Drake, and by an aunt, Gussie Askew.
He leaves to cherish in loving memories: his parents, Robin Spinks Welcher and Luke Welcher, Jr. both of Auburn, AL; one beautiful child, Lucas Marquez Spinks, Jr. and a stepdaughter, Rylann Benford, both of Auburn, AL; three sisters, Shanetra Spinks (Quinci Nelms) and Shaketra Spinks both of Auburn, AL, and Quanza Bynum of Atlanta, GA; one brother, Luquavious Spinks of Auburn, AL; two nieces Quinora Nelms of Auburn, AL and Egypt Bynum of Atlanta, GA; five nephews, Quinci Nelms, Jr., Quinjavis Nelms, Amari Spinks , Amere Spinks all of Auburn Alabama, and Jayceon Spinks of Cleveland, OH; five aunts, Jennifer Spinks, Regina Spinks, Keisha Spinks , Cheryl Spinks (Christopher Dillard) and Donna Holified all of Auburn, AL; seven uncles, Thomas Welcher and Bobby Welcher both of Rochester, NY, Earnest Morgan of Montgomery, AL, Lewis Morgan of TX, Timothy Spinks, Micheal Holifield and Don Morgan all of Auburn, AL; a special companion, Mercedes Benford of Auburn, AL; three special friends, Dougless Bledsoe, Wesley Reese and Ralph Spry; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
